We have decided to cancel worship services this Sunday and Wednesday. This decision has been made with great prayer and consultation. We believe this is in the best interest of our congregation and community. Our hope is that all remain healthy and well. During a crisis such as this, it is a reminder to us that God is in control. May you take time during this period to remain focused on the cross and lift this crisis up in prayer.
Even though the disciples had grown up hearing the prophecies of the Messiah who would die for their sins, it was still hard to fathom that their friend, Jesus would submit himself to death by way of the cross. Peter asked a question that many of us may consider when challenged by the cross, “Is it necessary?” The cross was Jesus’ ultimate submission to the will of God. Jesus could have performed many miracles, preached, and lived a holy life, but without the cross Jesus would not have fulfilled the mission given by God. Our faith requires a full submission to the will of God. We must surrender our lives in order to fulfill God’s purpose for our life.

Thanks for your interest in Mullen Memorial Church. I count it a privilege to serve at Mullen Memorial Baptist Church and to be part of the Belpre community. Our desire is that Mullen Memorial would be a place where people experience the transforming power of God's presence. We pray that through our experience people will be drawn to God. When I came to this church in January of 2015, I told this church that I was not a chaplain, but a leader. I want to get this church from Point A to Point B. If you are tired of going through the motions of church or life and don't feel like you are living out your God-given purpose, then Mullen Memorial is the place for you. We hope to see you soon!
