Intelligence can often be confused with wisdom. It would make sense that with more knowledge greater wisdom should follow, however that is not always the case. Wisdom is the ability to apply the knowledge that a person has. It is the ability to discern situations and make the correct choice. For example, the religious leaders knew all the scriptures regarding the Jewish Messiah, yet they refused to see Jesus as the fulfillment of the scriptures. To them, Jesus was a fool. The religious leaders had acquired knowledge, but were not humble enough to apply their knowledge for wisdom. The cross is an example of how “God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27). We all wish we knew more, but how well can you apply what you know about God? It might be more simple than you think!

Thanks for your interest in Mullen Memorial Church. I count it a privilege to serve at Mullen Memorial Baptist Church and to be part of the Belpre community. Our desire is that Mullen Memorial would be a place where people experience the transforming power of God's presence. We pray that through our experience people will be drawn to God. When I came to this church in January of 2015, I told this church that I was not a chaplain, but a leader. I want to get this church from Point A to Point B. If you are tired of going through the motions of church or life and don't feel like you are living out your God-given purpose, then Mullen Memorial is the place for you. We hope to see you soon!
